Social Dancing

Social Dancing is a weekly gathering around Latin rhythms. It is a warm and inclusive space where the focus is on connection—not choreography. Each session is adapted to the group’s level, so beginners feel supported and experienced dancers can refine their technique. There is never any pressure to “get it right”—simply feeling the music, moving at your own pace, and enjoying the company of others is perfectly fine.

During the September Open House, we explore three distinct styles: Cuban Salsa (circular, playful, and full of Caribbean energy), Cuarteto Argentino (a lively discovery session with infectious brass and piano rhythms), and Dominican Bachata (soulful and smooth, with romantic hip movements). No partner is needed—we rotate partners throughout each session so everyone gets to connect and dance with new people.

From October 14, we shift our full focus to a complete Cuban Salsa beginner course, running every Wednesday until Christmas. This requires regular attendance to build a solid foundation, though returning dancers are always welcome to come by and polish their basics. In January, we move to an intermediate level, with drop-in available only for those with prior experience.

No registration is required for the September Open House—just come. From October, membership in Social Hub/Interkultur i Lund is required. Comfortable clothing and clean indoor shoes are recommended.

When: Every Wednesday, 18:00–19:00
Where: Medborgarskolan Lund, Bangatan 10 (Danssal)
